We run five practical working departments where service users can develop existing skills or learn new ones, leave their comfort zone, access new experiences and make a positive contribution to the wider community.
By providing a range of additional activities and responding to the interests of the service users, we create opportunities for new experiences, building social skills, creating a sense of belonging and challenging the inherent isolation many of our service users experience. We provide practical and emotional support to service users and act as an anchor in their lives, providing consistency that is essential to their ongoing wellbeing.
With an ethos of unlocking potential we provide a positive environment in which the focus is what can be achieved rather than the limitations of the service user. The regular content of our work is within the departments listed below. We also run courses such as basic cooking skills enabling service users to increase their independence and a regular programme of supported activities encouraging healthy and active lifestyles whilst meeting social needs. Regular activities include kayaking, walking football, local walks, fishing, bike rides, and we even have a house band offering the opportunity to learn and perform at events across the North East.
Based in North Tyneside, we welcome male service users from across the region. Please contact us for information about fees, and please note that we cannot currently provide transport.
