Here are some questions we are often asked about Key Enterprises.

Can you tell me the main benefits of attending Key Enterprises? 

It will help you to learn a new skill, give you an opportunity to gain qualifications, give you the chance to make new friends and increase your self esteem and confidence. 

Would I be eligible to attend? 

We work with people with Mental Health problems, Learning Disabilities and Learning Needs. Everyone is different and has different needs. We will speak to you individually about this. Contact us by filling in our on-line form or just give us a call.

Is there an age range for Key Enterprises? 

We work with people between the age of 18 and 70. 

What are your opening hours? 

Monday to Thursday 9.00am – 4.30pm and 9.00 – 3pm on Fridays.
Our session times are 9am – 4pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am – 2pm Fridays.

What is the quickest way to get to you? 

We’re based in the Industrial Estate opposite Benton Asda. There are lots of buses which go to Asda. We’re also within walking distance of Palmersville Metro Station.  

I don’t live nearby. Do you have any other units around the Country?

No. We only have the one centre based in North Tyneside. We are happy for you to travel to Key Enterprises and have people attending from across the North East regions. 

Can I bring my own vehicle?

 Yes, we have plenty of car parking in front of our building or you could cycle into Key. We have bike racks so you can leave your bike securely. 

How do I pay to attend Key Enterprises? 

Payment is usually made through your personal budget and can be paid direct to Key by your local council. Talk to us for more information. 

Would attending Key Enterprises mean my state benefits would stop? 

No. Attending Key will be part of your care or training plan and will not affect any state benefits you receive. 

How many days a week can I come along?

 We are open 5 days per week but how many days you attend will depend on how much budget you are allocated by your local council. We will try to ensure you can attend on days which suit you best.

How many staff do you have? 

We currently have 14 staff.

I need to take medication at lunch time. Is it okay to bring it with me?

Of course. You can keep your medication with you or we can secure it in our safe. We are happy to remind you to take your medication.

Do I have to pay for any of the training courses? 

No. All training courses are provided free of charge.

Do I have to pay for any of the social activities? 

Yes. We will work hard to make sure we get you the ‘best value’ for any activities you need to pay for.

Is there somewhere I can have lunch? 

One of the training areas is Catering Department with a fully equipped kitchen and canteen.
This department prepares a two course lunch for everyone every day.
Lunches are provided free of charge and are served between 12noon and 1.00pm.
 

Is tea and coffee provided? 

Morning coffee break is 10.10am - 10.30am and an afternoon break is 2.30pm – 3.00pm. 
Tea, coffee and snacks are free of charge. 
 

What should I wear when I come along?

Key Enterprises is a working factory environment, so don’t come along in your Sunday best!
You should wear comfortable clothes which are suitable to get dirty. If you need safety boots, protective clothing, a special uniform or protective equipment for your choice of training this will be provided free of charge.   

Is there anything else you can tell me?

Yes. We are pleased to offer a service provided by the Northern Oak Credit Union. This means you can join a reputable service which offers a savings and loans scheme.
 

I know you are a Charity can I make a donation to Key Enterprises?

We welcome all donations to the service. Money donated will be spent on improving services for everyone attending Key Enterprises. You can donate by visiting our ‘Just Giving’ page.
