Service User Family & Friends FAQs

What vocational courses do Key Enterprises offer?

Key Enterprises offer the following Vocational Progression Programmes:
- Woodwork
- Horticulture
- ICT
- Catering
- Furniture Renovation
- Metalwork and Paint Finishing

On these courses service users work towards a unit or a full qualification. Service users gain valuable experience in real work place environments producing high quality products.

Entry Level to L2 Qualifications are also available in Key/Functional Skills such as:
- Adult Literacy
- Adult Numeracy

Life Skills sessions such as First Aid, Health and Hygiene, Nutrition and Fitness, Budgeting and Finance are also available.

When do they take place?

Different courses run on different days. We will work with the Service User and their carers to provide the most suitable course for their needs.

Where do they take place?

Courses are held on our premises at Benton, North Tyneside, in a community based environment or a combination of both.

Are the courses free of charge?

Service users will be reimbursed travel expenses to and from home (at public transport rates)
Tea, coffee, snacks and a two-course lunch are available every day at no charge here at our main centre in Benton.
 
All costs of training expenses are met by Key Enterprises. Key Enterprises pays for and supplies clothing or equipment needed, for health and safety reasons.  Key Enterprises offers subsidised leisure activities.

Do the users get a qualification for completing the courses?

Depending on the type of course completed the Service User will get either a certificate or a formal qualification.
